Hey there everyone, if you haven’t been keeping up with the Tumblr blog WTF, Evolution? there’s a book being developed for Fall 2014 which will incorporate an diverse smorgasbord of funky evolutionary marvels, new and old.
From the announcement:
"Want to know where the pigbutt worm lives, whether the sage grouse is endangered, or what additional elongated appendages the tapir has? I will tell you…possibly more than you wanted to know."
In addition to the exciting things WTF, Evolution? has in store for the book and via the continual progress of the blog, WTF, Evolution? is looking for biologists, zoologists, taxonomists, weird animalogists and fans to assist with fact-checking and sourcing, so stop by and help out for science! More from the announcement:
"I would love to run some pages by you and have you double-check my species identifications, descriptions, and basic facts. I’ve done my research—a lot of it—but I’m not a specialist. I’ve been so grateful to have the support and following of people in the scientific community so far, and with your help I can make sure that this book is as accurate and informative as it is (hopefully) entertaining!
I’m looking for scientists who specialize in: fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, insects, spiders, marine invertebrates, parasites, plants, evolutionary theory, or probably just about anything else that falls under the umbrella of “life.”
Anyone interested can contact WTF, Evolution? via email@example.com. Include what you study to see where you can fit into the book, and if you end up contributing, you’ll be acknowledged in the book and sent a signed copy when the book is released in the Fall of 2014!
Follow WTF, Evolution? to stay up to date and to obviously compliment your dashboard with biodiversity of the funkiest nature…
…stay curious, animals!
